The Weather of Nathiagali: Cool, Unpredictable, and Always Refreshing

March 2026

One of the biggest draws of Nathiagali is its climate. Summers here are blissfully cool while the rest of Pakistan swelters — daytime temperatures stay comfortable and evenings call for a light jacket. It's the kind of weather that makes you want to sit on a porch with a cup of chai and do absolutely nothing.

Monsoon season brings daily rain, turning the forests into an almost impossibly lush green. And in winter, the landscape transforms completely — heavy snowfall blankets everything in white, coating the treetops and mountain peaks in a scene that feels almost European.

A word of advice: the weather in Nathiagali can shift quickly. A bright, sunny morning can give way to fog and drizzle within the hour, so come prepared for anything regardless of the season.

The ideal window to visit is April through October, when the weather is pleasant and the trails are accessible. Summer (June–August) is peak tourist season, offering cool relief from the plains. Spring and early autumn are arguably the best times — fewer crowds, mild weather, and the forests in stunning colour.

Winter (November–February) is magical if you're prepared for it. Heavy snowfall transforms Nathiagali into a winter wonderland, but roads can become difficult and some facilities close for the season. Bring proper winter gear — heavy jackets, snow boots, and gloves are essential.

Pro tip: Avoid visiting during Eid holidays and long weekends. Traffic jams through Abbottabad and along the Galyat road can add hours to your journey, and the usually peaceful hill station becomes packed.
